Wequassett Resort and Golf Club

There are so many places to stay on Cape Cod but finding an outstanding property that exudes exemplary service and first rate accommodations combined with a spectacular dining experience can be somewhat of a challenge unless you are staying at the Wequassett Resort and Golf Club.

This four-diamond resort located between Chatham and Orleans on Pleasant Bay is surrounded by some of the most beautiful gardens on the Cape. The most recent addition to the pool area includes a fire pit where you can gather at night for a beautiful view of Pleasant Bay and Round Cove.

The name Wequassett means "crescent on the water" and the property was discovered by the Wampanoag Indians more than 400 years ago where they swam and fished in the bay. The land was later sold to William Nickerson, who settled in the town of Chatham. The property opened its doors to guests in 1925 and the current owners acquired the property in 1977.

The 22-acre resort offers a host of activities as well, whether you are looking to play tennis, go sailing or play a round of golf. The staff offers tennis lessons at the on-site tennis courts. Not too far away is the 18-hole Cape Cod National Golf Club located where guests enjoy exclusive privileges to this challenging course.

"We are affiliated with Cape Cod National Golf Course, which was recently voted #1 golf course on Cape Cod and #13 in the state of Massachusetts by Golf Digest," White added. "The only way to play there is to be a guest of Wequassett or by being a member of the club itself."

This beautiful seaside resort offers magnificent views of the bay and is the perfect retreat for a weekend escape.
